Match Preview – Cardiff Met Away

Barry Town are back in action on bank holiday Monday making the short trip to the capital to take on Cardiff Met at Cyncoed Campus.

Monday afternoon’s opposition have drawn all 3 league games so far drawing with Caernarfon Town, Briton Ferry Llansawal and Haverfordwest County.

Town suffered late heartbreak on Friday night falling to a 3–2 defeat at home to Penybont in what was Towns first defeat of the campaign. Town have 4 points from the first 3 fixtures and will be looking to build on that on Bank Holiday.

Manager Ryan Jenkins is in to his second spell as Met manager. Jenkins who rejoined the club in July 2023 and has so far managed 85 matches, winning 34. Jenkins first took on the role in July 2022 where he managed the club on 27 occasions before stepping back in January 2023.

Met and Town are no strangers to each other and have met regularly over the years. The clubs have met 17 times in the JD Cymru Premier with Town edging the head to head record with 7 wins to Met’s 6. There has also been 4 draws between the sides.

Town were unbeaten against Monday’s opponents last season drawing 1–1 at Cyncoed and winning 2–1 at Jenner!
