Barry Town United have completed a busy summer of transfer activity, with seven new additions strengthening Steve Jenkins’ squad ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
The Town brought in players from across the Welsh and English non-league systems, with the new arrivals already making their mark during Barry’s perfect start to the Novira Cymru Premier season.
From Jack Shaw becoming the first arrival of the summer to deadline signing Noah Daley making an immediate impact, we round up all of Barry’s summer business in order.
Jack Shaw – Trethomas Bluebirds | Free Transfer
Jack Shaw became Barry’s first signing of the summer, making the move to Jenner Park from Trethomas Bluebirds on a free transfer.
Shaw arrived after an impressive spell with the Bluebirds and has quickly made an impact in yellow and blue.
The midfielder has featured five times so far this season, scoring twice. His first competitive Barry goal came in the 3-1 victory away at Holywell Town, before he found the net again in the 4-2 home win over Airbus UK Broughton.
Sion Spence – Gloucester City | Free Transfer
Next through the door was Sion Spence, who joined The Town following his departure from Gloucester City.
Spence has featured in every game so far this season and has become an important part of Jenkins’ side.
He already has three assists to his name, setting up one of Barry’s goals at Holywell before providing another two during the 4-2 victory over Airbus at Jenner Park.
Jadyn Crosbie – Dorchester Town | Free Transfer
Jadyn Crosbie was the third addition of the summer, arriving on a free transfer from Dorchester Town.
Crosbie has been another regular since making the switch to Jenner Park, featuring in every competitive game during Barry’s perfect opening to the campaign.
His arrival added another attacking option to a new-look Town squad heading into the 2026/27 season.
Elliott Dugan – Bristol Manor Farm | Free Transfer
Barry continued their recruitment with the addition of Elliott Dugan from Bristol Manor Farm.
Dugan has wasted little time making his presence felt, featuring in every game and scoring five goals already.
He opened his account in the dramatic 3-2 victory at Flint Town United before grabbing Barry’s equaliser in the 3-1 comeback victory at Holywell.
His standout performance came on Bank Holiday Monday, when Dugan scored a hat-trick away at Briton Ferry Llansawel as The Town ran out convincing 4-1 winners.
Five goals and six wins later, Dugan has enjoyed an excellent start to life at Jenner Park.
James Lester – Llanelli Town | Free Transfer
James Lester was next to make the move to Barry, joining from Llanelli Town on a free transfer.
The defender added further competition and experience to Jenkins’ defensive options and has made four appearances for The Town so far this campaign.
Owen Brain – Taunton Town | Undisclosed Fee
One of the most significant pieces of business of the summer saw Owen Brain arrive from Taunton Town for an undisclosed fee.
The deal represented the first time Barry Town United have paid a transfer fee for a player, although transfer fees had previously been paid during the club’s history under the Barry Town name.
Brain has made an exceptional start to his Barry career.
In just five appearances, he has scored six goals and provided one assist.
His first two goals came during the remarkable comeback at Flint, before he scored again at Holywell. A brace followed against Airbus, where he also registered an assist, before Brain made it six for the season with another goal in Monday’s 4-1 victory at Briton Ferry.
With six goals from his opening five appearances, Brain has immediately established himself as one of Barry’s biggest attacking threats.
Noah Daley – Penybont | Undisclosed Fee
Barry’s final addition of the summer saw Noah Daley make the short move from Penybont for an undisclosed fee.
The striker became the club’s second paid signing of the window and was thrown straight into the squad for the Bank Holiday Monday trip to Briton Ferry.
And it didn’t take long for Daley to make his mark.
Making his Barry debut, the 24-year-old registered two assists in the 4-1 victory. Daley provided for Brain before later setting up Dugan to complete his hat-trick and cap an impressive first appearance in yellow and blue.
Seven in at Jenner Park
Seven new arrivals, and several have already played significant roles in an outstanding opening to the new campaign.
Jack Shaw, Sion Spence, Jadyn Crosbie, Elliott Dugan, James Lester, Owen Brain and Noah Daley have all strengthened Jenkins’ squad, with Barry’s summer recruitment already producing goals, assists and important performances.
With the summer window now concluded, attention turns entirely to matters on the pitch – and The Town head into the next stage of the campaign with six wins from six and a huge trip to The New Saints next on the agenda.
