Ieuan Owen departs for Kilmarnock FC

Ieuan Owen has departed the club to join Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock FC for an undisclosed fee following the release clause in his contract being met.

Ieuan has agreed personal terms with Kilmarnock and will complete the move over the coming days.

During his time at the club, Ieuan made a huge impact and will be remembered fondly by everyone. His standout moment came in the Nathaniel MG Cup, where his two goals played a decisive role in securing the club’s first top-flight silverware in over two decades – an historic achievement that will long live in our memories. Ieuan appeared 74 time for the Town scoring 27 goals across his time here at the club and always bought into what it meant to be a Barry Town United player providing coaching sessions in our community and working closely with our academy age groups.

Whilst there is disappointment to see him move on, this transfer reflects the club’s continued commitment to developing young talent and supporting players when opportunities arise to progress into professional football.

Everyone at the club would like to thank Ieuan for everything he has given during his time here and wish him every success in the next stage of his career in the knowledge that Ieuan can always call Jenner Park, home.

Good Luck young man!

Barry Town United Veterans O45 Title Decider

On Friday 20th March 2026, Barry Town United O45s Vets team take on Llanelli Town O45s Vets in the all important title deciding match at Jenner Park.

Llanelli sit top of the table with 30 points with Barry Town just behind them in second position on 27 points. Barry will need to win with a minimum goal margin of 3 goals if we are to clinch the title.

It is a tough day for Barry Town United Manager Andy Legg as he will be playing for Llanelli Town O45s in this fixture. In his Llanelli O45s team he will be joined by ex Swansea City players Gareth Phillips and Neil Williams as well as current Pure Swansea striker Lee Trundle.

Barry Town will also be using former first team players in their camp with both Damon Searle and Gavin Beddard lining up in Yellow and Blue once against.

Come down to Jenner Park and see if the O45s can clinch the title on Friday 20th March 2026 at 19:45KO at Jenner Park

Match Preview – Colwyn Bay

Barry Town will trade South Wales for North this Saturday as they take on Colwyn Bay at the Blue Turtle Arena.

The high of the Town’s historic cup win is still buzzing around the club as they followed with a 1-0 win over Penybont to secure their fourth successive victory.

Ieuan Owen’s winning strike means he has scored each one of Barry’s last three goals, taking his tally for the season across all competitions up to an impressive 17.

For the yellows, three points would be huge.

They sit two points ahead of Saturday’s hosts, and a win would not only lengthen that gap, but could see them jump as high as third if results fall their way.

Colwyn Bay’s last two games have looked starkly different, with a 3-1 home win over Penybont followed by a 3-0 away loss to Caernarfon Town.

Striker Jordan Davies has 12 goals on the season, good enough for fourth most in the Cymru Premier, so Barry will have to keep him quiet.

There has been nothing to separate the two sides across their last seven league meetings.

Two wins apiece and three draws in that span suggests we should be in for another close encounter on Saturday.

With just three points separating third to sixth, this is a huge opportunity for the Town to propel themselves into the elite bracket and top off an already successful season

Dylan MacIsaac

Theo Wharton joins the Town

Barry Town United are delighted to announce the signing of Theo Wharton. Theo rejoins the club following a spell between 2019-2022.

The midfielder joins us from Llanelli Town and made 44 appearances during his time at Stebonheath Park. Having represented St. Kitts & Nevis on 21 occasions, Theo will add experience to the Town side as we head into a big second half of the season.

Theo has also represented Hereford, Newtown, York City, Nuneaton Borough and Tamworth during his career.

The former Cardiff City youngster rejoins the Town on an 18 month deal and will wear the number 15 shirt as he did during his first spell at Jenner Park.
